This step installs the HearAid program and associated files onto a network workstation/client
There are two ways you can set up HearAid on a network workstation:
1.Create a Windows Desktop shortcut to the ..\HearSoft\HearAid\HearAid7.exe file on the server (Recommended), or
2.Install HearAid on the workstation then copy ..\HearSoft\HearAid\Firebird.ini from the server into the ..\HearSoft\HearAid folder on the workstation
The shortcut installation approach ensures that any future program updates will be immediately applied to any workstation connecting to HearAid
The second approach, where program files are installed on the workstation, does have the advantage of reduced network traffic but also requires the user to install program updates on each individual workstation as well as on the server and to copy ..\HearSoft\HearAid\Firebird.ini from the server into the ..\HearSoft\HearAid folder on the workstation
To install the HearAid program onto a network workstation/client using the shortcut method, you just create a Windows Desktop shortcut to the ..\HearSoft\HearAid\HearAid7.exe file on the server:
1.Open Windows Explorer (Windows+E)
2.Expand Desktop
3.Expand Network and locate the Server computer
4.Expand the Server Computer and navigate to the ..\HearSoft\HearAid folder
5.Right-click on HearAid7.exe and choose Send To|Desktop (Create Shortcut)
6.Rename the shortcut to "HearAid on Server"
You do not need to complete this step if you are installing HearAid either onto a network server or onto a single, stand-alone (not networked) computer
