Install HearAid Program Files

Previous pageReturn to chapter overviewNext page

Initial set up for either a network server or a stand-alone/single user computer requires the installation program from the link sent to you when you purchased your HearAid licence. This step installs the HearAid database (HearAid.fdb), program and all associated files.

If HearAid is to be run on a network, you should be running this installation program on the server itself and you should install onto a physical drive on the server computer.

Once HearAid has been installed on the network server, it is essential that the program setup on the server, including setting up the Database configuration, be completed BEFORE proceeding with Network Workstation Installation

If HearAid has already been installed on your server but you want to install the program on a workstation, you should skip this step and go directly to Network Workstation Installation

Once HearAid has been installed on either a stand-alone computer or network server HearAid can be opened in single-user mode, which will allow you to complete the following steps to set up the program:

1.Set up the Database in Tools|Options|Database & Analysis|Server. If you are installing HearAid on a network, the Report Template Folder, the e-Claim Folder and the Table SQL Folder settings must be UNC paths. For further information, see the Setting Up the HearAid Database topic

2.Set up HSP Provider Number/s and Practice Details in Lists|Practice & Providers

3.Set up Practitioners in Lists|Practitioners

4.Set up Sites in Lists|Sites

5.Set up Authorised Persons for OHS claims in Lists|Authorised Persons

6.Set up Calendar Resources in Lists|Resources
